About Teen Driving Training
For anyone under the age of 18, there are a few requirements before getting a driver's license. If you haven't done so, the first step is to take the Driver's Education course (OL 237). We do not provide Driver's Education however you can find many places online or in your local area. After completing the education part, you can then take the written test at any DMV location. Once the learner's permit has been issued, you can then sign up with our driving school to start the 6 hour training course that is required by the DMV. The classes are split into 3 classes and can be scheduled according to availability. We do open on weekends, however it is recommended to contact us in advance to ensure availability. In order for the learner's permit to be valid, you must have it signed by a licensed instructor. Without that signature, you cannot drive with anyone including the parents. Upon your first training with us, you will receive a signature from our instructor and from there, anyone 25 or above with a valid California driver's license may sit beside them as they learn to drive. After completing our 6 hour course, we will then issue the Completion of Behind-the-wheel Cerficate (OL 238). Teenagers must wait 6 months and 1 day from the issue date to be eligible to take the behind-the-wheel test. New drivers should always have adequate amount of practice before attempting to take the driver's test. Remember, safety is always number one. Do not attempt to take the test without having proper training.
About Our Driving Training
Basically we teach the student about common traffic rules, how to make a proper turn, how to control speed, lane changing, understanding stop signs, judgment calls of when to turn on unprotected greens, protected green arrows, and much more. If the student prefers freeway training, we can include that at no extra charge.
